Forget Cassettes - Bruce Wayne
It's funny because it's true: my desktop.

I was listening to "Bruce Wayne" by Forget Cassettes when the lyrics This conversation is wearing thin / A decade stands between us / So I'm betting I'll never win jumped out at me. "Hey," I said, "that sounds like Dick around the time Bruce fired him." I just transcribed (my best guess at) the lyrics, and now it's totes a Bruce/Dick song.

Age looks good on you
It paints your face famous
Your eyes are the trophies they sell as proof
That the years have been gracious

Only at night is when we meet
Just this life[?] covered by a mystery
Tell me what to expect
Watch me hang by a thread
Leave me with something that I won't[?] soon forget

Take me out
Let's grab a bite
We'll put on
Our disguise
And hide out in
The back

This conversation is wearing thin
A decade stands between us
So I'm betting I'll never win
And it's competition
I'm not caught off guard
So call me when
I'm older

Youth, it looks good on me
It paints my face not you
My hand-choked truth when my eyes lie
Touches of strength, touches of pride

We met for drinks at twelve and stood at
The jukebox until after two a.m.
X out on Main Street[?]
Was before my day
Tease me for when I was born: circa 1980

This conversation is wearing thin
A decade stands between us
So you're betting you'll never win
And it's competition
You're not caught off guard
So maybe you'll call me
When I'm older

Hey, hey, say something now
Hey, hey, say something now
Hey, hey, say something now
Hey, hey, say something

Take my hand and
I'll give you[?]
I'll stay home to
Clean my room
And feel the pangs of
Middle-age
There are things
[...?]
Through your pain

Say goodnight with morning open-ended
Next time you see me I'll be different
Say goodnight with morning open-ended
Next time you see me I'll be different
Say goodnight with morning open-ended
Next time you see me I'll be different
Say goodnight with morning open-ended
Next time you see me I'll be different

And it's competition
I'm not caught off guard
So call me when
I'm older

Hey, hey, say something now
Hey, hey, say something now
Hey, hey, say something now
Hey, hey, say something now...
