I had a catastrophic filter collapse in my coffee maker this morning and now, after forcing myself to watch Batman Begins, a movie that I hate, in order to check the plausibility of a vid idea that I have, I have discovered that I can't rip the disc correctly, due to some sort of copy protection (oh, DVD Decrypter, you have let me down).

But! I come bearing...unfinished Grey's Anatomy fic? Yes, it's true. I don't watch Grey's Anatomy anymore; I never came back after winter hiatus, so my last episode was 5x10 "All by Myself." I wrote this after 5x03 "Here Comes the Flood," and, as I said, it is (a) unfinished, (b) didactic, and (c) not remotely in line with later episodes, but I like some of the dialogue. Things that are annoying me right now:

1. The fact that Genius is not winning Top Cow's Pilot Season poll. Yep, I'm exhorting you to vote again. But don't take my word for it: read the comic.
   
   
2. Self-effacing author's notes, e.g., "This is my first time writing [ever/in a long time/this show/these characters], so I'm sorry if this sucks." I know I've included them on some of my own fics, but nine times out of ten they make me close the tab (the modern-day equivalent of clicking the back button?). Also, apologizing for not using a beta! Sometimes I use a beta; sometimes I don't. In the former case, I thank them; in the latter, I keep mum. If you feel compeled to apologize for not using a beta, perhaps you should, I don't know, use one. Basically, if you go out of your way to draw attention to the reasons why your fic may not be worth my time, I might just believe you.
   
   
3. Derek Shepherd. ARGH MCDREAMY GET EATEN BY A BEAR. (Yeah, hi, I just watched Grey's third season finale. And I know the show is never going to Go There, but, damn, the Meredith/Cristina. Moar fic plz.)

Grey's Anatomy 1x01 "A Hard Day's Night" – 2x27 "Losing My Religion"
KATE WALSH, HOW ARE YOU SO HOT? HOW!? HOW?! is the thought that continually derails my watching of this show. (Sometimes an ilu Meredith sneaks in as well.) I wish to God someone would write a long, smutty Marley/Karen (as in Karen Sisco) fic. And of course I wouldn't turn down epic and hot (and epically hot) Addison/f, although who the f would be is somewhat puzzling. I love Cristina, too. In fact, I kinda ship her and Meredith. And I love how Meredith/Derek and Cristina/Burke don't impair my ability to do that.

Speaking of Carla Gugino: WATCHMEN!! (She's the Karen Sisco in question and now she's playing Sally Jupiter, you see.) I saw the trailer before The Dark Knight and exclamation marks cannot contain my exclamations! I read Entertainment Weekly's interview with director Zack Snyder and I really think this won't suck. (The "motion comic," though—ugh!)
